Privacy
Last updated: October 12, 2026. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your photo and your words.
Before you press Generate
When you choose a photo, it is shown to you straight from your own device. Nothing is uploaded until you press Generate video.
When you press Generate
- Your photo and motion description are sent to the Viddiz server.
- The server checks the photo, turns it the right way up, shrinks it if it is very large, and saves a fresh copy without its hidden details (such as camera model, date, or GPS location). The original file is not kept.
- In the live service, that copy and your description are sent to fal.ai, the third-party AI service that makes the video. fal.ai may run the work on its own cloud infrastructure, and it checks the photo with a safety filter. Its handling of your data is covered by fal.ai's privacy policy.
- In demo mode, nothing is sent to any AI service: you see a sample clip instead.
What Viddiz keeps, and for how long
- A small record for each video: an ID, its status, when it was made, which browser session made it, and the link to the finished video. In the live service this record is kept in a database run by Upstash for about a day (25 hours), then removed automatically. Your photo and your description are not kept in it.
- Counts of how many videos were made, used to enforce daily limits, for 24 hours. Short-lived rate-limit counters based on network address, for up to an hour.
- A cookie named
viddiz_session, which holds a random session ID (and, for testers, a note that a tester code was entered). It is how Viddiz knows a video is yours. It lasts up to 30 days. - Your browser remembers the ID of your latest video, so it can show it again if you reload the page. You can clear it with Start over.
Your photo and video at fal.ai
Viddiz asks fal.ai to expire the uploaded photo and the finished video after one day. That request is carried out by fal.ai; Viddiz cannot check or guarantee when the files are actually deleted. Until they expire, anyone who has the link to a video could open it, so only share the link with people you trust.
What Viddiz does not do
- No accounts, no advertising, and no analytics that look at your photos or descriptions.
- Viddiz does not sell your data or use it to train AI models.
- Viddiz does not write your photos, descriptions or cookies to its logs. The company that hosts the website may keep ordinary request logs, such as network addresses, under its own policies.
Choices
You can use the demo without sending anything to an AI service. You can delete the viddiz_session cookie at any time in your browser settings; you will then no longer be able to see videos you made earlier.
